Well, we are a very sellect group at the moment, I think it's great idea for camera nuts to compare there equipment and views. hears to a few laughs Laughing

hello,

i am new to this forum, and i am stymied by the lack of marketing info on the form and PhotoRog.com.

Photos are great but with no buyer you have less of a chance of becoming a known photographer ... my opinion anyway... Rolling Eyes

Hi peter, Taking photographs to sell is HARD WORK. It is way easyier to take take photographs of something that is special to someone, their home their street but best of all their family, the photographs sell themselves. Maayans mum must must have one hell of a photo album. Find a niche maket and sell artwork on the side. just my view, cheers. Smile

Has anyone heard of or done business with this Agency

NEWAGE TALENT AGENCY and or Hilary Mbeki, located in the UK.

Time constraints to acquire documentation would have been extremely tight, to impossible, but it would appear i was invited to do a 10 day photo shoot, all common expenses paid, i would not be the only photog there. Not having a quick and sure way of verifying the company or offer and the probable impossibility to obtain a work permit in less then one week, i said no.

Any way, does anybody have a clue as to what a "UK photography license" is? If you do not, i have not been able to find out either. That is one piece of documentation i was required to obtain.

So it would seem that i have rejected a moment of fame, and maybe a pound or two of financial reward.

Anyone having info on the agency kindly let me know, thank you.

Thanks for your comments, actually www.PhotoRog.com is not a marketing info site but offers words of advice on how shoot pictures, weather your interests are in tabletop still-life, digital photography of the kids, advice and why you should use flash in bright sunlight, just to name just a few of the topics...

Or even setting up a photo-shoot of a teen model on a beach or Studio for example, and even How To Shoot Fashion in the Studio...

As a pro Ad/Fashion photographer now retired, I don't have the need or interest to sell my photos any more, as many I'm glad to say have been sold several times over, offset by the fact that the vast majority of my work in the past were commissioned assignments in the first place.

Selling Photos is a tough job and I think Phil Norman has hit the nail on the head with the suggestions he made. Your photos have to sell themselves.
